Windows will ask if you're sure
The first time you run it, Windows shows a blue SmartScreen box saying the publisher is unknown. Click More info, then Run anyway. That warning is Windows telling you the installer isn't signed with a certificate yet — not that anything is wrong with it.
Signing in
The installed app keeps its own session, separate from your browser. Signing in on the website doesn't sign you in here, so expect to enter your email and password once more the first time you open it.
The app is free to install on any plan — it's the same takeoff you already have. Working with the connection down, on projects this computer has already opened, is part of the Business plan.
